The Opportunity

The Team Supervisor oversees a team of approximately four to eight Lab Animal Technicians in the conduct of toxicology studies in non-human primates, canine and swine and is responsible for the conduct and management of selected studies assigned to the Large Animal Toxicology Team.

How you will contribute to make a difference

Guides, counsels and motivates a team of technicians

Organizes workloads in such a way as to minimize the need for overtime

Maintains a clear overview of protocol requirements and study-based developments on studies assigned to the team

Reviews data in the lab, ensures that studies are conducted and documented according to protocols, SOP's and regulatory requirements

Promotes high standards of animal welfare and ensures that any veterinary or potential welfare issues are attended to in an expedient and professional manner

Contributes to the selection, recruitment and appraisal of staff within the team

Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and technologies

In support of the team and department, conducts routine and non-routine technical procedures

Identifies current and future training needs for the team, developing and delivering practical and theoretical training

Bachelor of Science degree and/or equivalent work experience in an appropriate discipline

Prior management experience preferred.
