DBD Enterprises, LLC is a recruiting company, our client is an international chemical company in need of a Strategic Account Manager with experience with Molding Compounds.
Location: Chicago, Il. or Parsippany, NJ.
Strategic Account Manager : Molding Compounds
The Strategic Account Manager will focus on maintenance and growth of existing business as well as the development and commercialization of profitable new business in the medical device market.
They will also act as a champion for one strategic market segment to evaluate market potential, trends and needs in order to develop and implement strategic accounts plans and a market strategy focused on sustainable growth and value generation.
The ideal candidate will utilize their application development, entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills to maximize sales and profitability by driving sales of our specialty plastic materials and technical solutions in the assigned market segments and territory.
Responsibilities of the Strategic Account Manager:
Identify key stakeholders and understand the customer organization, roles and responsibilities of all persons involved in the buying process and their relationship and attitude towards each other as well as the decision:making process. The candidate will build and foster strong professional relationships with the customer which leads to a partnership benefiting both the customer and company.
Create strategic accounts plans to understand the customers business model, market and needs and to implement short and long term actions to maintain existing business and develop value:added and differentiated technical solutions using the companys broad product portfolio.
Actively identify new customers and collaborate with other functions (R and D, technical service, manufacturing, regulatory, etc.) and close business opportunities at existing and new customers.
Act as a champion for one strategic market segment to evaluate market potential, trends and needs, and as a result, support, develop and implement a market segment strategy to capitalize on these opportunities. In this capacity, the Strategic Account Manager is also expected to translate wins to other Strategic Account Manager regionally and globally.
Utilize communications and consultative selling skills to identify opportunities, lead innovation seminars and develop new applications by leveraging the value proposition of the companys products and services.
Segment customers and analyze market environment, industry drivers and competitive landscape to manage price, implement sustainable service model and maximize profitability.
Requirements of the Strategic Account Manager (MUST HAVE):
BS degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science or a similar science or engineering degree; MBA is a plus.
5 : 10 years outside sales experience (chemical or plastics markets) selling to key decision makers at industry leading medical device manufacturers.
Strategic thinker with a tactical discipline to deliver results.
Experience in application development preferably in the plastics and/or medical device industry (material selections, part/mode design, process optimization, structural analysis, regulatory compliance).
Understanding of marketing fundamentals and strategy development (market and competitive analysis, needs assessment, strategic positioning, marketing plan, etc.)
Strong negotiating skills required. Previous experience negotiating pricing, contracts, confidentiality agreements; supply agreements, consignment agreements as required.
This is a full time position with salary to 120, 000 plus bonuses and benefits.
