We have an outstanding opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer for our client, a leading company conveniently located in Hamilton/Trenton NJ. This is a full time direct hire opportunity that offers a strong base salary, bonus, and benefits package.
Job Duties Include:
:Leads the development or improvement of processes cross:departmentally throughout the organization, including documentation.
:Ensures that all processes are continually complying with ISO 9001: 2015 requirements.
:Leads the daily operations of the inspection department which performs inspections for product quality from incoming receiving for purchased components and internal machine shop in a timely manner.
:Assists technical staff of inspectors including hands:on support of daily quality inspections if necessary.
:Investigates and resolves quality issues concerning purchased product, which includes notifying and follow:up with supplier.
:Leads and participates in special projects that promote and enhance the quality assurance objectives of the organization.
:Coordinates maintenance and calibration of company owned measurement instruments, including those in QC, Production, and other departments.
:Conducts engineering studies to evaluate manufacturing processes and/or performance improvement projects for optimization including the development of new processes to ensure quality, cost and operating efficiency.
:Investigates and resolves quality issues in machine shop fabrication and assembly.
:Manages internal audit program including personally conducting internal audits, and assisting in the completion of resulting corrective and preventive actions.
:Creates detailed visual work instructions for critical processes to ensure they are performed consistently to optimize quality and efficiency.
:Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective action for customer complaints and manufacturing process related concerns.
:Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
:Participates in continual improvement activities to enhance the Quality Management System (QMS).
Job Requirements Include:
:Bachelor of Science in an engineering curriculum. (Engineering majors such as: Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, etc.)
:Demonstrated experience with quality assurance methodologies including Lean and/or Six Sigma toolset.
:Prior quality assurance or equivalent experience of at least 5 years.
:Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of standard measurement techniques commonly used in a machine shop and high precision assembly environment.
:Intermediate to advanced skill level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
:Ability to present quality related information to management and/or customers.
:Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and inspection instructions including geometric dimensioning and tolerances in the metric system.
:Ability to perform routine to advanced calculations related to engineering drawings
:Familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
:Experience and/or ability to perform basic statistical analysis.
:Exhibits initiative and high attention to detail.
:Uses good judgment in decisions regarding process and problem solving.
:Ability to work independently with general supervision.
:Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), video based measurement system, and standard mechanical measurement devices found in manufacturing industry is desirable.
