Rene Furterer, a rapidly growing salon hair care brand, is expanding its retail marketing team and seeking a Marketing Director.
In this role, you will have marketing responsibility a premium hair care brand sold primarily through the salon channel with some specialty distribution. The scope of this role will encompass everything from developing strategic programs, to the tactical execution of that strategy. This is an entrepreneurial company so a “can do” attitude is crucial.

Brief Description of Essential Responsibilities:
1. Develop annual marketing plans.
2. Develop and implement marketing strategies, promotions and tools for both existing and new products.
3. New product launches including all artwork, execution, materials.
4. Forecasting product and promotional needs
5. Work with Sales and plan field visits to obtain feedback and gage success of marketing programs

Major Responsibilities:
1. Act as mentor to lead and develop a marketing team of 2 direct reports
2. Develop annual promotional calendar, create and execute all promotions including marketing materials including sell sheets, promo sheets, POS displays, windows, etc..
3. Responsible for budget management for brands including monthly financial review and analysis of marketing expenses and fiscal housekeeping e.g. Purchase requisitions, invoice approvals etc.
4. Product/promotional P&L analysis
5. Work with outside vendors in the development of selling and promotional materials.
6. Circulation and record keeping of all marketing materials for regulatory, legal, medical and Management approval.
7. Review and analyze all sales data, trends and average price data for all SKU’s.
8. Develop annual and monthly forecasts
9. Develop marketing action plans for the sales teams
10. Review product packaging and coordinates modifications and changes with head office
11. Maintenance of marketing material inventory.
12. Preparation of product training materials
13. Market research on competitive products and pricing.
14. Provide direction to Digital department for development, maintenance and update of brand site and social media entities.
15. Coordinate the development of marketing support for key accounts.
16. Liaise with public relations agency to support programs and initiatives

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor's degree in relevant field (marketing, business, communications).
· MBA preferred but not required

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of 8 years of Cosmetic/ Beauty industry experience with progressive marketing roles
· Experience working with professional hair care preferred
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
· Leadership skills, including the ability to solve problems that include many decision-makers and carry several options for solutions, as well as persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
· Comprehensive understanding of US retail and cosmetic/beauty marketing
· Comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory issues impacting product marketing.
· Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the dynamics driving the US retail and salon market.
· Demonstrated understanding of program/project management processes and tools.
· Ability to interact widely and effectively within the company (i. e., on an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary basis).
· Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of ingenuity and creativity.
· Formulate approaches and strategies which may fall outside of historical norms.
· Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
· Strong team player with an ability to be a participant and a leader.
· French language skills preferred but not required
