Position Summary:

The POS / Operations Associate assists in execution of merchandising and operational functions to Company/Store Standards on the sales floor where assigned. The Associate unloads, processes and sorts all incoming merchandise and assists with replenishing the sales floor. The Associate processes customers purchases accurately and efficiently at the point of-sale.

Primary Duties:

Customer Service/POS:

  • Responds to POS back up calls and assists at POS as needed
  • Maintains proper funds in the register and calls for change or cash pick-ups as needed
  • Opens and closes the register and counts out register drawers, recording appropriate information on the balance sheet to prevent cash losses
  • Maintains a neat, clean and organized register area
  • Fills boxes, bags, and other supplies as needed at the register


  • Utilizes and adheres to operations best practices when unloading merchandise, fixtures and supplies and placing them appropriately to the sales floor or stockroom
  • Preps merchandise for the sales floor, including sorting, hanging and tagging according to Store best practices
  • Maintains stockroom organization, including recovering the dock at the end of each shift
  • Maintains fitting rooms, sales floor and work areas according to best practices
  • Assists in moving merchandise and fixtures on the selling floor or between the selling floor and stockroom
  • Arranges merchandise on fixtures and maintains signing on the sales floor according to current prices
  • Completes price changes, call backs and transfers as directed
  • Collects trash, sorts hangers and performs other stockroom and fixture maintenance as needed
  • Adheres to all safety rules and regulations as outlined in the Safety Manual
  • Assists in stockroom maintenance and organization per Store best practices
  • Follows Company/Store best practices and participates in Company/Store programs (i.e. re-wrap, mis-mates, damages, defectives)


  • Assists with other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: stocking, hanging, ticketing merchandise, assisting on the sales floor, assisting with recovery in fitting rooms and sales floor, assisting in housekeeping duties, assisting with stockroom organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sales or other work environment working with the public

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about the departments within the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
  • Adherence to Company/Store policy and procedures is required
  • Regular attendance is required
