Coriell Institute for Medical Research is currently seeking a Board Certified Genetic Counselor to help play an integral part in both our Coriell Personalized Medicine Collaborative (CPMC) efforts and National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Human Cell Repository teams. Coriell is recognized as the leader in the emerging field of personalized medicine, and our NIGMS Repository samples are used for a large variety of biomedical, human genetics, and cell biology research.

The ideal candidate for this role has a Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited Medical Genetics/Genetic Counseling training program and is American Board of Genetic Counseling
certified/eligible. Genetic counseling experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but not required. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent for this role will be responsible for identifying and recruiting potential donors to build or expand collections within the NIGMS Repository. They will also support the CPMC team by providing participants of a large personalized medicine research study with genetic counseling for complex disease and pharmacogenetics test results via telephone, email correspondence or in:person consultation. Additional responsibilities include:

:Assist with the
recruitment/enrollment of new CPMC study participants and identify and recruit potential donors to build or expand collections within the NIGMS Repository.
:Creating and maintaining repository IRB protocols, reports, and consent documents.
:Supervising and curating the entry of clinical, family history and genetic test result data into the NIGMS Repository database.
:Reviewing clinical, family history and genetic test result data for each sample submitted to the NIGMS Repository to ensure that the sample diagnosis is correct, is supported by the clinical and genetic test data, and that the catalog remarks entries are accurate and complete.
:Review published literature and develops written summaries of common health conditions or drug:gene pairs for review by CPMC scientific advisory committees (ICOB/PAG).
:Collaborate with the IT team to develop and test new CPMC genetic variant result reports.
:Write new and maintain existing CPMC educational materials (web pages for lay and health professional audiences, anticipatory guidance video scripts, educational seminar slide shows).
:Design marketing materials (brochures, slideshows, text and online advertisements) to help recruit sample submissions through patient outreach groups, patient registries and support organizations for the NIGMS Repositorypany Description:/h3:
