Job Description
To perform public relations duties using various media forms and corporate communications on behalf of SOBA College Recovery.
Main Responsibilities:
Relations/Corporate Communications Responsibilities:
: Manage media opportunities including print, online, and broadcast
: Develop alumni contacts for media outreach
:Write original content including press releases, pitches, byline posts, fact sheets, etc.
:Oversee media monitoring and compile reports for internal circulation
:Create monthly and quarterly media relations board and committee reports
:Circulate media updates to internal distribution list
: Research and develop story ideas and topics as requested by PR team
:Create media lists of reporters, producers, etc.
:Attend events to manage media as needed
:Write and schedule social media posts to support media relations, including tweets, Facebook posts, and LinkedIn status updates
:Assist with event management as needed
:Coordinate with Marketing to upload media
highlights/original content to SOBA website
:Assist in the organization of SOBA PR department files
:Coordinate logistics for meetings/calls i.e. media interviews, internal PR calls, video blogs
:Hold weekly calls with CEOs assistant to review upcoming activities
Education/Experience/Skills Qualifications:
: If in recovery, two years of continuous sobriety preferred
: Bachelor degree in a related field preferred
:Two : three years experience in the field of Media or Public Relations preferred: Healthcare Industry a plus
:At least one year of PR agency experience preferred
:Excellent grammar and proofreading skills : knowledge of rules of grammar and composition
:Ability to write and edit
:Strong understanding of media relations/social media
:Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments
:Good communications and interpersonal skills required : must be a team player who enjoys working with people (ability to interview alumni and families about sensitive topics)
:Has some established relationships with media
:Ability to manage a media opportunity from start to finish
:Ability to work independently but also able to take direction
:Experience with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in work capacity, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
:Familiarity with media monitoring tools
:Strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements:
: Light lifting and bending (10:20 lbs.)
: Sitting, standing and typing for extended periods
: Ability to use/maintain office equipment
: Ability to travel
:Ability to work extended hours, including evening and weekends as necessary
:Must have transportation to and from site visits and appointment
