Test and Commissioning Engineer
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
:Act as Lead T and C engineer and direct other test and installation personnel.
:Perform carborne signaling system test activities such as static tests, operational, and system level tests. Conduct tests in compliance with company standards, project requirements, relevant test procedures, and safety standards.
:Identify operational and technical problems and assist in practical solutions and improvements to system design when appropriate.
:Interface with customers, consultants and installation contractors daily.
:Perform installation and testing of field modifications. This may be performed on live circuits and on new or existing equipment.
:Accurately complete test documentation, data sheets, marking plans, daily logs, lost time, and discrepancy reports with an attention to detail.
:Maintain location plans to reflect the as installed or as tested condition of locations under test.
:Must maintain highest regard for safety, fail safeness and system reliability.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5 years of experience or 10+ years equivalent of related experience testing train control systems
Experience (Essential Functions)
:Hands:on experience with test equipment (voltage meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital multimeters and signal generators)
:Working knowledge of signaling products and vital and non:vital circuit concepts
:Must be able to understand and interpret signaling circuits and wiring diagrams for the purpose of installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
:Proven railway safety awareness
:Working knowledge in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software
:Strong written and oral communication skills
:Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions (Industrial/Environmental)
:Assignments often require work to be performed at night. Work schedules and hours change often. Working weekends is not uncommon. Working conditions are not always desirable.
:Ability to travel throughout the state of New Jersey to multiple locations on a daily basis.
:Ability to travel up to 20 domestically and/or internationally
