A Research Technician I position is available with Dr. Steven Seeholzer, a CHOP Research Principal Investigator and faculty member of the University of Pennsylvania.
An entry:level research technician is needed to participate in daily operation of the Protein and Proteomics Core Facility. The successful candidate will assist the core director and co:workers with the collection and analysis of data by properly conducting specific experiments and routine laboratory procedures. Additionally, the Research Tech will maintain efficient laboratory operation, as well as perform other general laboratory chores such as mixing solutions and ordering supplies, as assigned or directed, in order to meet the goals and objectives of the laboratory group.
The successful applicant will have a Bachelors degree with a major in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, computer science or related field preferred. Entry:level position : no formal work experience required but summer lab job or similar experience preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with strong math and/or computer skills in addition to the willingness to do benchwork. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must.

Job Responsibilities 13;
1. Prepare laboratory reagents.
2. Perform routine calculations and maintain appropriate log books and lab notebooks.
3. Perform procedures on experimental samples as directed.
4. Use and maintain laboratory equipment and analyze complex datasets.
5. Performs clerical duties associated with operation of a core facility
