Key Responsibilities:
+ Build strong relationships with scientific stakeholders in LDO, external solution vendors, and internal IT partners to deliver information technology solutions and services in support of LDO business objectives and strategy.
+ Define multi-year strategic business capability roadmap with LDO business partners, and formulate IT investment proposals to advance capabilities.
+ Direct business analysis activities required to translate business needs to solutions for business problems
+ Drive business process reengineering required to achieve maximum value from digital investments.
+ Define organizational change management plans for LDO projects, including training, communications, SOPs, etc.
+ Define and measure business value of digital capability solutions, ensure value is delivered through the entire investment lifecycle, and own the ultimate value outcome realized by our scientific partners.
+ Through external engagement, provide domain thought leadership and collaborate within a highly matrixed, global, drug development environment
+ Establish strategic business process automation, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities for the LDO business domain.
Qualifications
Key Competencies:
+ Broad business acumen and knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries required.
+ Deep domain knowledge in drug discovery required, and specifically deep domain knowledge with respect to drug discovery lead optimization scientific operations and workflows is required.
+ Deep domain knowledge in compound management and quantitative in vitro biology as applied to lead discovery and optimization is required.
+ Experience and expertise with business process automation software and hardware platforms used to support drug discovery operations is required. Practical experience with laboratory automation, especially robotic programming and operation is highly desirable.
+ Experience with IT capability delivery, including software development and software development lifecycles is required.
+ Formal project management and/or business analysis skills and experience is highly desirable.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience within a matrix organization and ability to work independently is also required.
+ Broad scientific and technical background is highly desirable, including knowledge of current and emerging scientific and information technologies.
Other qualifications:
+ A BS in Science, Engineering, Information Management or a related field is required. A MS, or Ph.D. in these subject areas is highly desirable.
+ At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries is required. At least 5 years of experience delivering IT capabilities is also required.
