**Program Overview**
The Comcast Center Cooperative Internship Program \\(Co\\-op\\) is a six\\-month internship program based in the greater Philadelphia area\\. The program is designed to identify high\\-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on\\-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications\\. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talented Comcasters\\. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers\\.
Additionally, your experience will include:
**\\-Engagement:** Working on creative, innovative, and thought\\-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your cooperative experience\\.
**\\-Exposure:** An inside look into the day\\-to\\-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology\\.
**\\-Professional Development:** Exposure to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization\\. These sessions include speaker series, skill\\-building workshops, and networking opportunities\\.
**\\-Mentorship:** Mentoring from fellow colleagues through the Empowering Future Leaders Program \\(EFLP\\) to help you navigate your experience, provide coaching, and expand your professional network\\.
**\\-Fun:** Continuously develop relationships with fellow interns through social activities, community building, and networking\\.
**Role Overview**
The Data Services department gathers, organizes, analyzes, andmakes it universally accessible to empower, enable, andtransform Comcast into an insight data driven organization\\. The organization provides an enterprise wide approach to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a data andplatform technology portfolio of initiatives and programs that are aligned with the data teamstrategic goals and mission\\.
Co\\-op duties to include, but not limited to:
\\-Design, prepare, cleanse, structure, integrate data from various resources, quality check data sets,document, and manage data\\.
\\-Analyze massive amounts of data both real\\-time and batch processing\\.
\\-Prototype ideas for new tools, products, and services\\.
\\-Employ rigorous continuous delivery practices managed under an agile software developmentapproach\\.
\\-Ensure a quality transition to production and solid production operation of the software\\.
\\-Help automate and streamline our operations and processes\\.
\\-Build and maintain tools for automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operations\\.
\\-Work collaboratively to deploy and operate our systems\\.
\\-Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test, and production environments\\.
\\-Research, develop, support, and deploy solutions using real\\-time distributed computing architectures\\.
\\-Perform performance and stability testing\\.
\\-Negotiate with leads and owners on scope and priority to meet project goals and timelines\\.
\\-Work with various teamsranging from other software engineering teams, software architects, big data scientists, andtesters to deliver quality solutions, detail design, and quality code for a solution/feature\\.
\\-Tools for deployment, monitoring, and automation\\.
\\-Functional test cases and test results\\.
\\-Performance and stability test results\\.
\\-Process and operation documents\\.
**Preferred Qualifications/Requirements**
\\- Ability to work is West Chester, PA
\\- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States\\-based college or university that has a Cooperative learning track \\(Sophomores, & Juniors preferred\\)\\.
\\-Major: Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems
\\-Minimum GPA: 3\\.0
\\-Hands on experience in developing applications utilizing one or more Hadoop Ecosystem components\\-Snoop, SQL, Hive, Pig, Flume, Python, Accumulo, HBase, Kafka, Spark, and Storm
\\-Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries\\.
\\-Ability to work on a team\\.
\\-Authorized to work in the United States of America\\.

**Core Responsibilities**
