    We are looking for a dynamic, self-starting, flexible, and enthusiastic Teen and Emerging Technology Librarian  to join our team at the West Caldwell Public Library. This team member must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to think outside the box. Grant writing experience is a plus.

    Our new team member must:

    • Have the ability to translate new and emerging technologies into services that align with the library’s mission and community needs

    • Have strong technology skills including 3D printing, gaming, coding, and VR as well as basic troubleshooting

    • Provide reference services to patrons of all ages

    • Manage and maintain Library website (WordPress) and Library’s social media presence

    • Develop and maintain YA collection and has a knowledge of best practices in teen services

    • Instruct patrons in information gathering and digital literacy skills

    • Schedule, prepare, and implement teen and adult programing

    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with schools, community groups, agencies,  and non-profits

    • Publish the electronic YA newsletter with Constant Contact

    • Coordinate daily activities of staff and volunteers assigned to teen services and oversee the Teen Advisory Board

    The position offers health coverage, NJ Retirement Plan, and generous holidays, vacation and sick time.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  The NJLA minimum applies to the fully qualified degreed candidate. A MLS from an accredited ALA library school is required. A 35 hour work week including a minimum of one night a week and Saturdays is required. Candidate will report to Youth Services supervisor.
