Job Description Purpose
GENERAL: Senior advanced level position requiring a thorough, extensive knowledge of the job and specialized function and/or department served. Performs a variety of highly diverse and complex business specific tasks and activities of a responsible nature in support of a department or functional area requiring sound planning, organization, judgment, adaptability, and accountability. Supports the functional objectives of assigned department or team by performing a variety of complex activities of a responsible nature. Provides support of the functional processes, programs, and/or services. A skilled specialist who completes tasks in resourceful and effective way.
JOB:SPECIFIC: Operates as subject matter expert by providing technical and administrative support to the Payroll function for Novo Nordisk Inc. and other Novo Nordisk affiliates. Supports payroll preparation/processing and related responsibilities such as tax reporting, benefits:records administration, or payroll systems maintenance for NNI and related companies we service including full payroll services for NNRC, NNRCI, Novo Ventures and NNUSBPI to ensure they are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles and federal, state and local regulations. Processes time records, calculates deductions such as Social Security, withholding taxes, and 401(k) contributions, and disburses payrolls. Analyzes audits, reconciles and resolves complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth, timely payroll processing.
GENERAL: Directly supports a business or function. Extensive inter and intra:departmental contact is required as well as contact with individuals representing outside organizations on matters of importance to the function, the department or of a sensitive nature. Interacts externally with organizations and/or vendors. Provides guidance to lower level administrative positions.
Reports to the Director, Payroll and is accountable for interacting with all levels of internal and external customers on a regular basis. Internally provides support to other payroll team members. External relationships include various vendors for Payroll, Mobility, and Benefits.
Essential Functions
* Compiles and analyzes data, creates complex reports, and provides information regarding function activities.
* Exercises independent discretion and judgment, where input to changes in work processes and work flow is often required.
* Manages and follows:up on action items and activities in support of the department and/or function.
* May handle calendar management as needed.
* May occasionally provide some administrative support to department or function or assist with overflow work.
* May perform a variety of routine office duties involving typing, invoicing, record and file maintenance, data entry, meeting/travel arrangements, planning and execution of either on or offsite department meetings, processing expense reports, department event planning (e.g. off sites, team building, group meetings), running/processing reports, and vendor management as needed.
* Obtains and secures resources necessary in order to execute events and programs.
* Performs complex analysis based on identified needs and direction provided.
* Proactively identifies and executes on areas for improvement within the department.
* Provides general support to projects such as monitoring project timelines and deliverables.
* Provides support for budgets and tracks project timelines and deliverables.
* Reviews, updates and uploads information to relevant systems.
* Solicits information from various sources and develops presentations as needed.
* Utilizes software and/or systems specific to the functional area to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs,
