Purpose
Responsible for supporting the alignment of pricing and contracting strategy across all franchises and addresses any issues with cross:franchise inefficiencies. Supports franchise teams in developing the portfolio strategy to achieve short:term and long:term business objectives, and providing thought leadership, concept design, and tactics that will drive innovation in market access in order to increase value and strengthen Novo Nordisk's competitiveness. Develops value based contracting strategies in conjunction with S and I Franchise teams and leads implementation with Strategic Pricing.
Relationships
Reports to Senior Director, Strategy and Portfolio Innovation. Interacts frequently in collaboration with internal management and Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) Market Access account teams. Interacts internally with colleagues from Strategy and Portfolio Innovation, as well as team representatives from Value Communication, Contracting Strategy, Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR), Finance, Account Executives, Field Sales, Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Brand Marketing, and all others, including global colleagues/counterparts, on a routine basis. Ensures strong collaboration across functions to leverage on collective knowledge and insights and develops portfolio:based and innovating contracting strategies in order to maximize profitable access.
Essential Functions
Supports the alignment of pricing and contracting strategy across all franchises and addresses any issues with cross:franchise inefficiencies. Serves as a point:of:contact in the Strategy and Portfolio Innovation team for Contracting Strategy colleagues across all franchises, and collaborates with these colleagues to identify opportunities for contracting innovation. Assists in the development of portfolio:based and other value based contracting strategies for inline and pipeline products, in order to maximize profitable access. Recognizes opportunities and conceptualizes initiatives to drive innovation in market access strategies, processes, programs, and/or engagement models. Designs pilot programs to incubate new ideas, sets strategic imperatives and evaluates strategy success against those imperatives. Drives the implementation of platforms, capabilities, and systems in:house and/or via third party vendors to support value based contracting initiatives. Leverages understanding of the competitive landscape to anticipate and pre:empt future competitor moves by creating strategic opportunities to enhance portfolio performance through the development of non:traditional engagement and payment models and other innovative plans and strategies. Collaborates closely with Market Access Strategy and Innovation colleagues to gain a holistic understanding of access strategies across all franchises and channels and communicate relevant knowledge and insights to these colleagues. Works collaboratively with Value Communication, Contracting Strategy, PCOR, Finance, Account Executives, Field Sales, Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, and Brand Marketing to develop and implement a strategic and tactical approach to proposed non traditional strategies. Delivers internal and/or external trainings and presentations on market access capabilities, insights and projects and on ways to recognize and develop innovation within the team. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures and encourages others to do the same. Contributes to practices that attract and retain the best people.
Physical Requirements
10:20 overnight travel required.
Qualifications
* A Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent experience. MBA or another advanced degree required. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate
