Job Description Purpose
Provides analytical insights that support the Value Communication and Contracting Strategy teams in developing an evidence:based value story and pricing strategy, respectively. This position will directly support the Biopharma and Trade franchise. Uses appropriate tools and techniques in order to communicate clinical, health economic, real:world and patient:reported evidence in order to formulate the value story. Responsible for applying analytical methods and tools necessary to translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations in order to develop and implement a world:class pricing strategy.
Reports to Senior Director, Value Communication and Contracting Strategy. Interacts frequently in collaboration with internal management and senior level managed markets customer representatives. Interacts internally with team representatives from Value Communication, Contracting Strategy, Patient Centered Outcome Research (PCOR), Financial Planning and Analysis (FP and A), Forecasting, Commercial Effectiveness, Analytics, Brands, Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Account Executives, Field Sales, Investor Relations, and all others, including global colleagues/counterparts, on a routine basis. External relationships include interactions with managed markets payers, vendors, and consultants.
Essential Functions
Provides analytical insights and builds models needed for contracting strategy development, new product pricing and strategic pricing projects, execution of list and net pricing strategies, and monitoring and evaluation of contract performance across customer segments. Develops pricing models to be used in the evaluation of list and net pricing recommendations, including in preparation for Pricing Committee and senior management meetings. Responsible for both planned and ad hoc analytical tasks relating to pricing strategy development. Supports initiatives to drive innovation in market access strategies, processes, programs, and/or engagement models. Supports Pricing and Contracting Strategy colleagues with the development and implementation of access strategy through financial modeling for deal evaluation by producing analytical deliverables. Develops scenario planning models to help optimize access and guide net price strategy. Develops pricing models to be used in the review of list and net pricing recommendations Develops presentations for senior management regarding contracting and pricing strategies. Alignment with Finance, FP and A, and Forecasting on pre:deal modeling, Average Realized Price (ARP) management, and Gross to Net (GTN) forecast. Works with Government Pricing and Strategic Pricing to analyze impact of pricing changes on Novo Nordisk financial results, including impact on statutory pricing. Assists in the development of customer segment valuation. Provides integrated analyses and insights for customers and other business groups, including customer segment reports and trend reports, for internal communication purposes. Assists with the yearly review of current pricing strategies and the process for developing recommendations for the next calendar year. Contributes to scenario impact models on pricing and profitability within key channels.
