The Accountant, Corporate Accounting, is responsible for providing accounting support including Budgeting, Reporting and variance analysis and account research as needed. They will have primary responsibilities for Corporate Overhead departments including IT, Facilities and Service Fee accounting plus other departmental support that may come up. The position will be reporting to Associate Director Corporate accounting and will have direct contact with various operations department heads. The responsibilities will include analysis of both Income Statement and Balance Sheet related activity.The positions responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:Coordinate and assist in the input of annual departmental budgets as well as monthly forecasts and variance analysis. This includes all researching and providing variance explanations and departmental overhead reporting commentary. Review and analyze monthly financial results for assigned departments. Handle departmental inquiries regarding monthly results and invoices processed.Help prepare forecasts based on the monthly variance analysis.Prepare calculations for Service Fee charges and coordinate with Regional offices.Record monthly journal entries including monthly accruals and other activities related to month and year:end closings.Review and code invoices for processing for payment. Research invoice related issues.Monitor lease accounting and prepare supporting schedules for external auditors for corporate rental properties and other overhead areas.Ad hoc special projects and analyses as assigned.Bachelor in Accounting or Finance preferred.Minimum of 1 year accounting experience, public experience preferred.Strong Excel skills.Working knowledge of SAP preferred.Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, etc.CPA or parts passed preferred but not required.Experience interacting with various levels of management.Strong analytical skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with different levels within the organization.Ability to work well in a collaborative, team oriented environment.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to independently follow through on projects and assignments.
